Details of what technique is being taught at our Saturday morning sessions up to July 2020 are on the club calendar. Go to the club calendar for details of all Go-ride sessions, including maps and directions. Always bring a drink and a snack (no nut products please!), a working bike with decent brakes, helmet, gloves if you have them and dress appropriately for the weather.
The Go-ride programme was set up by British Cycling to encourage young children to take up cycling. With most of the GB cycling team having come through the Go-ride system, there is every opportunity for young riders to enjoy and progress their cycling.
Woolwich Go-ride section accepts new members from the age of 8 up to 16.
Sessions are fun, enjoyable and run by fully-qualified BC coaches.
Sessions are held on a weekly basis, with the first Saturday of the month held at Cyclopark, Gravesend (this is a British cycling club cluster where all local clubs are invited) and the last Saturday of the month held at Foots Cray Meadows, where we have the use of the scout hall for talks, workshops and shelter from the rain if we need it. Our Welfare Officer, Dean, tends to be at these sessions.
Various venues are used throughout the year, and location is sometimes weather-dependent. We hold sessions at Danson Park, Cyclopark, Dartford Heath , Hall Place & Footscray Meadows.
