Racing Secretary: No members reported any success on the road/circuits in recent weeks. Jimmy continues to ride at Cyclopark. Nine club riders took part in the May Bank holiday event at Cyclopark. All were a credit to the club, with some of the riders taking part in their first organised race. See the website for Dave Gearing's tale about his first road race. The Clubs road race championship is to be incorporated within the SERRL even of 5-7-15. Members have been encouraged to book now to avoid disappointment.
Event Secretary: SERRL 5-7-15: Assistance required to ensure that the race goes ahead. So far 5 club members have offered their services. The promotion is a joint effort with Brixton Cycles. The May Day bank holiday event at Cyclopark proved to be a well run event and thanks goes to all the club members who assisted and of course raced. Despite early trepidations that the event was going to fall flat on its face enough riders took part to make the promotion worthwhile. Costs were covered. (Outgoings £943- Income £1070). 4 ladies and 7 juniors signed up for the event. We had hoped for greater numbers in these sections.
Membership Application: Application received from Gary Ricks. Gary has been taking part in a number of clubruns and has now decided to join. Gary was unanimously voted in as a new member.
Go-Ride: A regular group of 14/15 attends the coaching session each Saturday. The London Youth games are approaching (4-7-15) but at this time it is proving difficult to entice riders to take part in the cycling team (6 riders required)
Clubruns: The Summer routes are now to be followed. Please see the website for this year’s new routes. Volunteers required to lead on the day.
Sundry: Three of the Club's coaches (Terry Blake, Martin Messer and Mick McLaughlin) attended a day long coaching session for a corporate challenge event on the road circuit at the Lea Valley Velo Park. The event, The Royal Bank of Canada “V" series is being held at Canary Wharf on 14-5-15. The coach’s time and efforts were fully appreciated by all those taking part.
The Cyclopark youth series beings on 8-5-15. The club is scheduled to run the event on 15-5-15. Assistance is required on the night.
Club racing kit design: Jimmy Hayward will be circulating a design of the proposed race kit for member’s comments in the next week.
Reminder the Club summer picnic is being held at Herne Hill on 14-6-15, all welcome.
