Extracts from the Club’s Monthly meeting minutes- October 2014.
Jack Miller is 1st Junior in the region & now has his 2nd cat licence.
Jimmy Hayward came 3rd in the Kingston Wheelers race.
Kristof DeBeule finished second in the Olympic Velopark Crits.
Terry Blake has heard about proposals for a series of races at Cyclopark next year with individual promotion by clubs but ‘underwritten’ by a central fund into which all finances are paid & ‘ring fenced’ so that no one club should end up out of pocket. – The Club backed this idea and asked Terry to enquire further.
Our newest qualified coach Anne Wright reported that they are regularly getting 15-18 riders each week. The new term has started and includes regular outings to Foots Cray, Cyclopark & Dartford Heath.
Having one meeting place appears to be working but it is proposed that there’s a 3rd run to encompass all the new riders. Ride stewards need to be appointed for each run to help marshal the group, ensure that the selected route is followed and assist some of the more inexperienced riders with gear selection etc.
Midweek Chain Gang run:
Jack Miller proposed to keep the summer chain gang going through the winter.
