The Secretary is to take forward with the relevant Club members the matter of ensuring that the Club's domain names remain valid and operational.
The outgoing Treasurer has prepared a copy of the club's accounts which were provided to the Treasurer designate (Sam Wood takes over from November 15) in order that she may acquaint herself with the accounts structure. A Bank form was also completed in order that Sam may operate the account. Sam is to provide copies of the required identity paperwork required by the Bank in due course. It is to be put to the club that the Treasurer may now operate the account on a sole basis in order that access may be given to online banking. (At present two authorised signatories are required to operate the account and as such online banking can only be offered in view mode only). Go-Ride Bexley: Gareth the outgoing treasurer was not present. He is in course of obtaining the relevant paperwork from the Go-Ride's bankers in order that Sam may also become authorised on this account.
Reminder that the latest Time Trial events, which will count for the Club BAR, are 12/7/15 Gravesend 25 and 19/7/15 ECCA 10. In so far as the 25 is concerned if no club member has entered the club will consider looking for another qualifying event for members to enter. London Youth Games (4-7-15): Rob Dale is managing the Bexley Borough Cycle team in the absence of Martin Messer. Crystal Palace: Marshalling to be undertaken by the club on Tuesday 28th July. Names to Martin. SERRL event: The club is assisting with marshalling duties at the event on 5-7-15. Junior Race Fund: A warm letter of appreciation was received from Megan Panton in respect of the financial assistance given by the club towards her expenses when she took part in a 3 day (4 stage) event in Blackpool.
The average of 15/16 riders taking part in the training/coaching sessions on a Saturday morning continues to be maintained. Membership cancellations have been received from 2 members, one of whom has been in the Go-Ride section almost from the very beginning of the club. At the outset of the Go-Ride section it had been the vision to encourage riders through to the competitive side of cycling. While this strategy has shown a limited success it is felt at present the numbers coming through are perhaps not justifying the effort being made by all the coaches. As an example the current Summer in the Park series at Cyclopark has attracted 102 racers, in all age categories. The club has witnessed only 2 of our members taking part. The coaches are presently in discussion about the situation.
In recent weeks the runs have been following some of the established routes. Members have been divided into groups based on ability and this has ensured that members have been able to stay with the selected group and finish the route.
The Family picnic day at Herne Hill proved to be a resounding success. 46 participants took to the track (experienced and not so experienced) and a great day was had by all. Coaches Terry Blake and Martin Messer kept everyone going in the right direction through interesting drills and thankfully the services of the first aid officer in attendance were not needed. Thursday Chain Gang: Around 10/15 local riders are taking part in the session with some 4/5 riders coming from the Club. Stock of Jerseys/Shorts. While the stock for the younger riders is very healthy the stock for senior riders, especially short sleeve jerseys, has been reduced to a small selection. Members agreed not to place an order to restock at this time (minimum order 5 items) pending the outcome of the earlier idea put forward to re-design the club's racing jersey. To be discussed again at the next meeting
