Extracts from minutes July 2017
Alex Pearson has been racing at Cyclopark. Robbie White won his age group at the Cyclopark Summer in the park series. To win the series Robbie had to finish first in the last race which he did. (well done Robbie. London Youth Games: The club's Go-Ride coaches led the Bexley cycling team as part of the London Youth Games. The majority of the riders (including 3 of Terry Blakes grandchildren) were from our club. In all the disciplines Bexley finished overall 14th compared to 20th the previous year. Club 10mile T. T. champion: This year the award goes to George Martin. (well done George)
Club is marshalling at Crystal Palace on 11/7/17 (Due to rain the event was cancelled and the Club's services were not required.) SERRL 20-8-17 The club still requires another 2 members to volunteer in order that we can fulfil our full quota. H. Q. Chillock Memorial Village Hall. Members to be there for 8am The race distance is 87 miles and is the divisional championship. ECCA marshalling commitment on 23/7/17. Terry Blake has kindly volunteered to fulfil our quota of marshals on the day. Club members are being encouraged to take part in the event (10-mile T. T.)
The Go-Ride section will cease for the summer after 15-7-17. Between 14/15 members continue to regularly attend the sessions each Saturday. It is time for more members to come forward and assist with coaching sessions
The Sunday runs continue to be self-managing but newer members are being encouraged to lead some of the runs. Social ride 21-6-17. This was well attended with refreshments being taken at the Fighting Cocks Horton Kirby. A big thank you goes to the club chairman for his very generous donation to the refreshments on the night.
The club has been given the opportunity to run a coaching session at the Olympic velodrome on 16/8/17. More information to come.
A volunteer is required to organise the Club's Christmas dinner (first Sunday in December 3-12-12 at the Kings Head Public house).
Terry Blake and Martin Messer are representing the club at the forthcoming British Cycling regional meetings.
