Matters Arising: No matters arising
To Receive the Balance Sheet Woolwich Cycling Club: The Treasurer presented a report and a copy of the Income and Expenditure Statement. The relevant figures were accepted by the members in attendance. Go-Ride Section: Apologies received from the Treasurer. An income and expenditure statement was presented and the details were brought to the attention of members by the Club Secretary. The relevant figures were accepted by the members in attendance.
Secretaries Reports: Secretaries reports (General Secretary, Racing Secretary and Go-Ride section) presented to members (see individual reports for details.) The racing secretary called upon members to ensure that all their racing results are added to the Club’s racing log before the end of this month.
Propositions & Rule
Changes Club Constitution: Following the renewal of the Club’s Clubmark status it was proposed by Allan Mair and seconded by Anne Wright that the constitution be amended to introduce a more robust policy and procedures for Safeguarding and Child Protection. The policy and procedures are adopted from British Cycling’s guidelines. A majority of club members voted to accept the new constitution. A copy will in due course be sent to all existing members.
Election of a President: Existing club President George Rogers was re-elected for a further period of 3 years.
Election of Vice Presidents: Terry Blake was elected as a Vice President. Terry was warmly thanked for all that he has done for the club over the years, from his involvement in the establishment of the Go-Ride section through to his coaching on the track at the Olympic velodrome
Election of Officers: The undernoted agreed to act in the roles as follows: Chairman: Mark Palmer General Secretary: Allan Mair Treasurer: Sam Wood Racing Secretary: Martin Messer Trophies Custodian: Bob Younger. 2017 Promotions: The club has agreed to promote an event at Cyclopark under the banner of the Summer in the Park series (racing for riders up to the age of 16). The club has agreed to marshal at the Crystal Palace Criterium during 2017. At this stage it is not sure whether the SERRL will continue during 2017 as the organiser has stepped down. More information will be obtained when the racing secretary attends the associations AGM in November.
Affiliations: Members voted to re-affiliate to the Associations as follows: British Cycling, Cycling Time Trials, S.E. Road Racing League, Kent Cycling Association, Eastern Counties Cycling Association, Southern Counties CU, Southern Road Records Association, British Schools Cycling Association, and Sustrans. In keeping with previous years a donation is to be made to the Battle of Britain Museum, Shoreham.
Subscriptions: Subscriptions are to remain as follows: £20 per annum for all members over the age of 18. Youth and Junior members £5 and £10 respectively. Second Category £10
General Meetings: General meetings will continue to be held on the 1st Thursday of every month.
