Woolwich Go-Ride is for the young members of the club who want to learn good cycling skills from Level 2 qualified British Cycling coaches.
Next Woolwich Go-Ride session :
Date & time : Saturday 24th February 09:45 - 12 noon
Venue : Footscray Meadows. Meet at the Scout hall just off Rectory Lane. Bring a drink and a snack and make sure you wear weather appropriate clothing. This venue is more suited to off road or cyclocross bikes and you must have a helmet.
Term fees of £30 are now overdue and can be paid cash, via direct credit (see one of the coaches for payment details) or via cheque payable to "Go-Ride Bexley".
Sessions are held on a weekly basis, with the first Saturday of the month held at Cyclopark, Gravesend (this is a British cycling club cluster where all local clubs are invited) and the last Saturday of the month held at Foots Cray Meadows, where we have the use of the scout hall for talks, workshops and shelter from the rain if we need it. Our Welfare Officer, Dean, tends to be at these sessions.
Various venues are used throughout the year, and location is sometimes weather-dependent. We hold sessions at Danson Park, Cyclopark, Oxleas Woods, Dartford Heath & Foots Cray Meadows.
Membership and Fees
Annual membership of the Woolwich Cycling Club is due in September - cost £5.00. Term fees are payable at the start of each school term (September, January, April). Cost is £30 per term.
Riders' progress is monitored through the Woolwich Go-ride (WGR) awards scheme, which encourages the riders to challenge themselves to improve their cycling - and have fun in the process. More details can be found here.
