Club Run Start Point
In order to ensure a smooth departure to the Sunday runs it has been decided that from April 2017 there will be three runs as follows:(1st) commencing 09:00am distance in excess of 50 miles, av. speed 16+ mph. (2nd) 09:00am distance up to 50 miles, av. speed 15/16 mph (3rd) 9.00 am social run av. speed 12/14mph. The object is to allow members to choose the run according to their needs and to try and remove the confusion on the morning of the run when it comes to what run should I follow?
We meet at Bexley railway arches by the Maharajah restaurant 10 mins before departure time. Each club run will typically stop at the same Café at around 11:30. The rides will typically get back to the local area between 12:30 and 13:00.
During the months of May-Sept we also run an 08:30 club run on the last Sunday of the month that looks to cover 60+miles and is for those stronger riders looking for a longer run to cafés we can't normally reach.
You can see from the rides that people log on Strava the typical speed and distance covered. We never leave anyone behind and stop at the top of tougher hills to re-group.
We recommend that you have the following on any club run: pump, 2 spare inner tubes, 3 tyre levers, multi-tool, patches, mobile phone, £10 (emergency money). We do also ask that during the winter months Nov-Mar that riders have mudguards if at all possible.
Our normal Café stops include: Speedgate Café, Lullingstone, Shoreham Air Museum, Beaver World.
