Message from Ollie Golding :

We would just like to say thank you to all the well wishers that have emailed and phoned since Stephanie's accident. Your support has been very much appreciated. Stephanie is recovering well, she came off remarkably unscathed given the seriousness of the incident, mostly thanks to her helmet! Her BC Silver Membership is a bonus as they will be representing Stephanie in the following weeks. Once again, thank you. Ollie + Stephanie

Woolwich CC riders took part in the Bike Around Brands event (15/08/08) at the famous racing circuit in Kent.

We were very fortunate with the weather this year and hope that everyone enjoyed the event. We hope you will return next year for our 125th Anniversary Event.Happy junior riders after the '10'

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It was good to see so many junior and Go-Ride riders (12-14) entering, and we hope this is a trend we can continue to actively encourage.

The club has always been mainly involved in the competitive side of cycling : track, road, off-road and time trials, and has produced a number of national champions over the years. However, not all members race but still enjoy the social aspects of the club. See the Location page for weekly club-run details.

The club caters mainly for riders of age 16 and up.For children aged 7 - 16, the club is jointly involved in Go-Ride Bexley, a club specifically aimed at providing activities for that age-group.

125th Anniversary

The club, founded in Woolwich in 1884, is now one of the oldest cycle clubs in the country. Nowadays, the majority of the membership lives within the London Borough of Bexley and the club holds its meetings in the function room of the King’s Head pub in Bexley High Street where club president Paul Fennell is the landlord.

The club membership includes a number of qualified coaches, whilst other members are always prepared to give advice and guidance to new members.
